fundamentals of computer programming

i am getting goosepumps as the d-day is coming nearer. i am publishing my first book on fundamentals of computer programming for I year engineering students of Sri ramananda Teertha Marathwada University, Nanded. It took seven months to write the book. The activities involved executing the programs, error corrections, searching answers for the one's which i did'nt know, interacting with subject experts for doubts.
But that part though laborious was more easier than the efforts involved in publishing the book. i had to met many publishers but somehow i was not satisfied. I brought along my brother and we started the publishing house Uma Publications. we had to start everything from scratch. Sittings with the designer and the dtp operator were and are the most dificult ones.We sit the whole day for corrections, take the hard copy, again sit in the night, new errors identified and again the process repeated.Today hopefully will be the last day of the corrections and may send for printing by monday and hopefully the printed first 1000 copies will reach us by fifteenth of this month.
This being a book for a limited target audience( engineering students under srtmu nanded) and ours being a not known publishing house the additional task of propagating and advertising is on our shoulders.
To advertise my first new book the following techniques i am using:

1. Told students about the utility of the book and how they can score good marks in fcp.
2. On back side cover page printed the comments of established enginneering faculty, heads of departments, Principals of surrounding engineering colleges. For this i had to meet them, tell them about my book and request for their blessings, comments. This will increase the word of mouth.
3. Trying to contact the book shops to keep the book at their counter for sale.
4. Trying to contact distributers so that they can push the book in the market.
5. Planning to use local media, newspapers to advertise the book.
6. Planning to keep the book for sale at places where students hang out like eateries, theatres etc.

Hope the book will be successful
