BEST THING TO HAVE HAPPENED !!!

This is rather a postscript.Actually i had planned to write this blog after the dismal loss of indian cricket team to bangladesh at west indies during world cup 2007. i had planned to write like this " india's loss to bangladesh is the best thing to have happened. As it is going to serve as the bootstrap for the team's better performance.The indian team is symbolic representation of the indian psyche; lacking fire and desire to win, not showing sense of responsibility, having the ability to do harakiri at the right moment.But the moment we are lost to a minnow like bangladesh the echoes of public outcry will reverberate the dressing rooms of the boys. They will realize so much is at stake; their carreers, their lives, their flourishing advertising booty, million dollar contract with the board. This will put enough fire in their belly that they will fight back and make a fighting comeback.They will win three, four matches.Their confidence, respect, self-esteem, career, money, will be restored and they will again be ready to loose another match at the opportune moment maybe a crucial match or a semi-final".

Alas! our poor boys have proved worse than this. That need not be told.

But one thing our indian team achieved which none could do. They united the entire country irrespective of it's people's caste, creed, religion for a day. The country of one billion people was united in it's collective expression of sadness and shame the day india lost to srilanka.

May the indian cricket team be sent to debris, buried deep underneath our collective shame and rise again like a phoenix.
